The Straub Family Cares

At Straub's, being a community partner is at the heart of who we are. We love to give to the St. Louis neighborhoods that have supported us for over a century.

As a local, family-owned business, our giving is focused primarily on the schools and organizations in the immediate neighborhoods surrounding our stores. We also prioritize a few key organizations that our family has special ties to.

Donation Requests

We field a tremendous number of requests each year and review every single one. To help us process your request efficiently, please review our guidelines below before submitting:

Lead Time: Please submit requests at least 30 days prior to your event.

Non-Profit Status: We generally support organizations with valid 501(c)(3) status.

Local Focus: We prioritize events and organizations located within the zip codes of our four store locations.

Exclusions: We typically do not donate to individuals, third-party fundraisers, political candidates, or for travel expenses.

How to Submit: Please email a detailed description of your event/request, along with any official documentation (flyer, donation form, Tax ID), to:

Our Partnership with Operation Food Search

We are proud to name Operation Food Search as our primary charitable partner. Their mission to heal hunger and strengthen our future aligns perfectly with our values as a local grocer.

  • Daily Food Rescue: Every single day, our stores donate food that didn't sell to OFS, ensuring it feeds families instead of going to waste.
  • Food Drives: We host food drives, including Shop Out Hunger, and others where our customers and staff rally together to stock the shelves of local pantries.
  • Employee-Led Giving: Our team puts their own money where their heart is. Through our weekly "Dress Down Days," employees donate $1 to wear jeans, and many choose to make automatic donations from every paycheck directly to OFS.
